Service Detection

Know what runs on every host, from databases to printers.

Scanopy matches each host against 410+ service definitions and lists the services it runs. Browse every definition.

Identify a device without logging into it

Scanopy reads what each host answers on the network: open ports, web pages, protocol handshakes, TLS certificates, mDNS records, and the vendor behind its MAC address. A Grafana login page, a PostgreSQL handshake, or a Brother MAC with port 515 open each names the service.

Know whether it’s a firewall, a NAS, or a printer

Services that only one kind of device runs set the host’s type. pfSense makes a host a firewall, and Synology DSM makes it a NAS.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Which services can Scanopy detect?

410+, from databases and web servers to printers, cameras, and IoT devices. See the full list, with how each one is detected.

Does service detection need credentials?

No. Scanopy identifies services from what each host answers on the network. Docker and Podman credentials add the services running in containers.
